The Royal Hotel is located in the heart of Sydney on beautiful Cape Breton Island, overlooking the scenic harbour waterfront. Built in the late 1700s, it is recognized as Canada’s oldest continuously operating hotel, welcoming guests since 1785.
This historic boutique property offers nine uniquely designed suites, each with a rustic, vintage character that honours the natural beauty of time and tells a story of centuries past. In 1875, the hotel was home to Canada’s first Prime Minister, Sir John A. Macdonald, adding another remarkable chapter to its rich heritage.
